AI4S DB is an independently edited database of AI tools for science and research. It is intended for graduate students, researchers, and technical professionals who need a concise starting point before examining a product, repository, or publication in depth.
What we include
A candidate must address an identifiable research task, such as literature discovery, evidence review, data analysis, scientific visualization, or domain work in biology, medicine, chemistry, and materials science. We favor tools with accessible documentation and a usable public product, repository, or service.
Inclusion is not an endorsement of scientific validity, security, or suitability for a particular study. Those judgments depend on the task, data, methods, and consequences of use.
How entries are prepared
- Official sources first: product sites, documentation, official repositories, and primary publications where available.
- Independent writing: descriptions are synthesized for the research task; they are not copied from product pages or other directories.
- Bounded claims: we describe documented capabilities and avoid unsupported rankings, performance claims, or implied validation.
- Recorded verification: each entry has a last-verified date. Current pricing, availability, and licence terms should still be checked at the source.
What the fields mean
“Open source” indicates that an official source-code release was identified. It does not imply that model weights, training data, hosted features, or every component uses the same licence. “Chinese support” records documented or observed interface and language support; quality may vary by task. Pricing labels are broad comparison aids, not purchasing quotes.
Editorial responsibility
Automated tools may assist with routine checks, but publication decisions and wording remain an editorial responsibility. We do not invent test results or present generated summaries as evidence. Material scientific claims should be traceable to primary or authoritative sources.
Corrections and contact
Tools change quickly, and even careful records can become outdated. If you find an incorrect capability, status, link, or attribution, email hello@ai4sdb.com with the relevant official source. We review evidence-based corrections and update the verification record when appropriate.
