RESEARCH USE
Where CORE fits
CORE can search open-access records collected from repositories, preprint servers, and journals. Follow each result to its source to confirm the version, publication status, and reuse licence. For programmatic work, use the CORE API within its terms, rate limits, and attribution requirements, and preserve queries, dates, and record identifiers.
Research tasks
- Find openly accessible research papers
- Trace aggregated records to repositories or journal sources
- Retrieve metadata and available full text through an API
What to evaluate before use
- CORE aggregates upstream records, so versions, duplicates, metadata quality, and full-text coverage vary by provider.
- An open-access label does not by itself permit unrestricted reuse. Check the licence and rights for each version and any third-party material.
