RESEARCH USE

Where NGL Viewer fits

Load PDB, mmCIF, trajectory, or volumetric data in a browser, define atom selections and representations, and embed the configured view when needed. Preserve the exact structure or trajectory version, assembly and model choices, display scripts, color rules, and NGL version.

Research tasks

  • Inspect proteins, nucleic acids, and other molecular structures interactively
  • View molecular-dynamics trajectories and volumetric data
  • Embed reproducibly configured three-dimensional structure views in web pages

What to evaluate before use

  • Rendering does not validate structure quality, chemical state, or simulation reliability. Chains, models, biological assemblies, and symmetry operations must be checked against the source record.
  • Large structures and trajectories can exceed browser memory or graphics limits. Images and interactive views should disclose selections, hidden content, and representation choices.

Verification note
