RESEARCH USE

Where revtools fits

revtools imports BibTeX, RIS, CIW, or CSV records into R for duplicate inspection, interactive title or abstract screening, and topic exploration. Retain the original files, R and package versions, deduplication rules, screening decisions, and exported results so that the process can be reviewed.

Research tasks

  • Import and organize bibliographic records
  • Inspect duplicates and screen titles or abstracts interactively
  • Explore a literature set with topic models

What to evaluate before use

  • The current CRAN version, 0.4.1, was published in 2019. Test it with the intended R and dependency versions rather than assuming that an older release is either incompatible or actively maintained.
  • Topic models and interactive ordering are exploratory aids, not substitutes for a registered search, independent screening, or an auditable eligibility decision.
