RESEARCH USE

Where HALO fits

HALO supports quantitative analysis of whole-slide pathology images. Researchers select analysis modules, define tissue regions and cell-detection rules, and extract measurements relevant to their study. Results need to be checked across staining batches, scanners, and tissue types before applying a pipeline to a larger cohort. Preserve the annotations, settings, software version, and review decisions so that a reported measurement can be traced back to the image.

Research tasks

  • Quantify cells and biomarker signals in tissue sections
  • Analyze whole-slide images in batches
  • Compare image-derived measurements across study groups

What to evaluate before use

  • HALO, the optional HALO AI toolbox, and HALO Link are distinct products or components. Confirm which capabilities a proposed license includes.
  • Image-analysis measurements are not clinical diagnoses. Detection errors and batch effects need separate assessment.
