Where Imaris fits
Imaris is used to inspect microscopy volumes and turn segmented objects into measurements. Depending on the licensed modules, a project can include surface reconstruction, spot detection, object tracking, and measurements of shape, distance, or intensity. A useful evaluation is to process representative images alongside a reference annotation set, then inspect the measurements as well as the rendered images. Keep the original data, segmentation settings, module versions, and any manual corrections.

What to evaluate before use
- Imaris is proprietary, and analysis features vary by package and module. The free Imaris Viewer is not the full analysis product.
- Segmentation and tracking errors can bias downstream measurements. Validate them against suitable annotations or controls.
